This week Campus Film Classics presents Moloch Tropical, a film that is equal parts hilarious political satire, scathing indictment of Haitian politics (from an insider in Aristides government) and innovative work from the Caribbeans leading auteur director. In this dark comedy Haitian filmmaker Raoul Peck imagines the last few hours of a fictionalised version of Jean-Bertrand Aristides reign in Haiti with pressures from within (his country and his household) and without (the American government) conspiring to topple the once idealistic, now hopelessly corrupt government of Ti Jean. The film (which was a ttff/10 selection) screens at 7.00pm this Wednesday (not the usual Thursday) 22 October at the UWI St. Augustine: Film Programme, 12 Carmody Street, St Augustine. Doors open at 6.00pm. The screening is free and open to the public.
