This week Commissioner Silvia and I have continued to praise our Father God for the gift of his Son Jesus and his Holy Spirits abiding presence. We remain so thankful, too, for the encouragement and intercessory prayers of brothers and sisters in Christ right around the world as I have undergone surgery. Very naturally today, therefore, my spirit resonates with words from Psalm 57:9-11: ‘I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.’ Even amidst national strife - seen in so many countries, and shockingly evident in France this week - we believe that God remains graciously and unfailingly present. Please do join us in ongoing prayer for those affected by civil disturbance around the world. Join us also this day in affirming the testimony found in the chorus of song 33: Great is thy faithfulness! Great is thy faithfulness!
