This week Felicia and I went to Daniel Wilsons launch party for his new iOS game, Mayday! Deep Space (which is huge amounts of fun, if you like story-based sci-fi). Daniels the author of Robopocalypse and Robogenesis, and I just met him here in Portland last year. Very kind of him to invite a couple of California transplants to the party. Highlight of the party is probably a tie... between Chuck Palahniuks spectacular sweater (Felicia really dug the sweater, and I was too intimidated to do much more than say Holy shit, thats Chuck Palahniuk), and meeting Chris Thile, whose music Ive been listening to for the past fifteen years or so. (Pretty old video below -- if you like bluegrass, you probably already know who this guy is. I dont often geek out over meeting famous folks, but I kinda geeked out about this one.)
