This week, Governor Jay Inslee announced his plans to improve transportation in Washington as well as to transition our state to cleaner sources of energy and enforce carbon pollution limits already adopted by the state legislature (1.usa.gov/1v0FSuI). We applaud the Governor for these actions, and are proud to see Washington leading the way for a cleaner, greener, and wilder future! Of special importance for wildlife advocates, the transportation plan includes an investment of over $170 million towards Phase 2A of the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project, including the project’s first wildlife overpass. Unlike some mega-projects in our state, the I-90 Snoqualmie Pass East Project has been under-budget, benefits from a diverse set of supporters statewide, and is ready to build.
