This week I celebrate 24 years as a vegetarian. In 1989/90 I was an au pair/nanny in Switzerland. My Swiss host family and I, four female goats and one buck lived under one roof together in a 250 year old farm house, built when barns and homes were combined. One spring morning I had to assist one of our goats, named Mara, give birth to two kids. Moved by the experience, afterwards found myself unable to eat animal flesh. Its a decision Ive never regretted :)
