This week I co-sponsored the Embassy Security and Enhancement Act of 2013 with several of my colleagues on the Foreign Affairs Committee. If we are going to ask our diplomats to serve in some of the most volatile regions of the world, they deserve the highest level of security we can provide. This legislation will build upon the improvements the State Department has made since the tragedy in Benghazi, including increased focus on high-risk diplomatic posts, better contingency plans and stronger benefits for the families of United States employees who lose their lives abroad.
