This week I had the opportunity of teaching two Communication - TopicsExpress

This week I had the opportunity of teaching two Communication Media Literacy classes for Undergraduate students (university level). The topic was Production Elements, one of my favorites. It was an amazing experience, especially because in the second class I proposed to analyze two scenes of The Passion of the Christ: the Introduction in the Gethsemane and the Crucifixion. Each student selected one Production element (sound, performance, colors, lighting. movement, angle...) and took some notes of how this element was contributing with the message delivery and affecting the viewer experience. For the first scene, the students did very good, highlighting the color and lighting effects, the strong performance of the characters, and also the natural sound. The problem was one I ask them about the second scene. More than one student answered: I just took notes of the first scene. For some reason almost 15 students forgot that they were communicators and become viewers extremely attached to what they were seeing. What about you? Does the crucifixion of Christ impact you? Is the more important scene of the universe history meaningful for you? If you have doubts, check it again and take your conclusions. https://youtube/watch?v=soInGuejXX4 https://youtube/watch?v=590mLGo4mvY
