This week Minnesota made history! Governor Mark Dayton signed - TopicsExpress

This week Minnesota made history! Governor Mark Dayton signed an increase to our states minimum wage, raising it from $6.15 (one of the lowest in the country) to $9.50 an hour by 2016, indexed to inflation. Now 357,000 Minnesotans will get a much needed raise, allowing more Minnesotans to save for their future or spend money in their local communities. Congratulations to Governor Dayton and the Minnesota legislature. This would also not have been possible without the community groups, labor leaders, and citizens who worked so hard to make this happen. Thank you Minnesota, for being an example for the country by standing up for working families and raising the wage! Congress must follow Minnesota’s lead. We must raise the federal minimum wage to $10.10 per hour! Share this post if you believe that American workers deserve a raise!
