This week, Working In went on a fact-finding visit to the earthquake-stricken city of Christchurch. We found a ravaged city, with buildings destroyed, awaiting demolition or in dire need of repair. Under these circumstances, the residents of Christchurch could be forgiven for giving up, upping sticks and relocating to somewhere with less of a threat to their welfare and livelihood. But no, the Christchurch residents are made of sterner stuff, and it is to their credit to see them working hard, day and night, to get their fine city rebuilt. Christchurch boasts one of the lowest unemployment rates in the Southern Hemisphere, with plentiful opportunities across the city in construction and engineering. If you are skilled and qualified in these sectors and have ever thought about making the move to New Zealand, how do you fancy joining in, and helping the people of Christchurch rebuild an entire city? Please cast an eye over our job site, complete with a list of construction and engineering career opportunities. Help build Christchurch a new wall of hope. workingin-newzealand/jobs#.U37Ka1iSxmR
