This week and today especially has been amazing for me!!! Many of yall are aware by now of the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Well, I have a rare form of ALS (theres about 1,200 of us) called Primary Lateral Sclerosis, PLS. I was first diagnosed with ALS in 2012 before the diagnosis was ultimately changed to PLS. I, therefore, know what it is like to have ALS because, for six months, that is what I had. It is a cruel disease that no words can truly describe. It tortures the very soul of the ones afflicted. Anyway, I am so grateful to all of those that have accepted the challenge. My wonderful wife and amazing kids plus one did it today!!! There is a cure out there for this disease. It involves stem cells. It is beginning to be done in Israel and Russia. With more money, research and trials it will be a reality here in the US.
