This week has been Tu Meke! I could sit here for aaaaages telling you every little detail but time does not permit so short and sweet- Ill share a miracle. The miracle this week was witnessing the baptism of Alice Lau. Alice Lau is a beautiful Sister from Malaysia, who has waited 16 years to become a member of The Church. In respect for her parents she hadnt been able to be baptized, although she kept the law of tithing, Word of Wisdom, and all other standards of the gospel... after days, months, even years of earnest prayer, and fasting Alice was finally baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It taught me something...that there is a time and a season for everything- Now is the time for Alice. The years in preparation have not been at a loss, she, along with her family have enjoyed the journey in patience, full of hope, that one day her Father would soften his heart and allow Alice to be baptized. Her Eldest brothers (Brother Lau) conversion was that of 14 years- today Brother Lau is the 1st councillor on the Bishopric- THE BEST! Its all in the Lords timing. This helps me to know that when things dont work out in the time we expected or had hoped for, the Lord has a plan for each of us, as we continue to be up and doing, being obedient to the council and instruction weve been given, just as Alice was in living the gospel faithfully, we too will be blessed with miracles in every phase of the work. Im so grateful for the scriptures. Its been a goal of mine for the past few weeks to better minister to the people within my stewardship- and to others in general, who better to learn from than The Master himself. It was difficult for me to truly follow or try to become someone that I had a very simple knowledge of. As PMG says- more important than what we teach is WHO we are- we must become as the Savior in order to teach with that converting power of the Holy Ghost. Ive come to know and strengthen my relationship with my Savior as Ive read and studied of him- To know his ways, his miracles, his conduct, his attributes. A missionary was once asked by his Stake President in his interview before serving his mission, looking him in the eyes asked, Brother.....What is the Saviours favourite ice-cream flavour? after a moment or two of pondering ... This Elder looks at his Stake President with a puzzled look like, Uuummmm?? Im not sure President. He tells the young missionary, In the next 2 years you will serve in such a way that you will come to know that Saviour so intimately to answer such a question. As I thought about that event- I reflected on the past few months Ive been able to labour in the field- Its true, Ive come to know him...Truly know him, who he is...to the world and to me personally. It didnt come through study alone - from a few weeks of study , or a miracle, it has been a process of diligent service and hard work. Line upon line, precept upon precept. As we endeavour to walk in his shoes, and be his hands for a moment...for the rest of our lives, we cant help but become as he is. Isnt that the goal? This is a journey each of us are on- and it is my testimony that the journey is indeed enjoyed if it is patterned after our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I love my Savior, I love his gospel. It is perfect. HE is perfect. In His name, Jesus Christ, Amen. Sister Green :)
