This week is the deadline to submit nominations packages for the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce 2014 Samuel T. Northern Military Citizen of the Year (MCOY) Award. Nominations are open to active duty E-6 and below. Nominees must demonstrate active participation in off-duty community activities, in addition to criteria expected of an enlisted military member. The award is not for a single act, but rather for sustained ..munity service in Hampton Roads for a period of at least one year, but not more than two years. All nominations must be received by Sept. 19. Finalists will be notified the last week of September. This years winner and finalists will be recognized during a luncheon, Oct. 9, at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside Hotel.
