This week is world breastfeeding week. IPB is committed to providing support to parents of preterm babies nationwide and to parents whose babies are term but ill. (1) We have Ireland’s only preterm breastfeeding co-ordinator ( A prem herself). (2) We are the only charity that hire or donate hospital grade breast pumps to prem mothers. (3) We are the only charity that pay for professional lactation support for prem mothers when they are at home. (4) We are the only charity that that run free workshops for on expressing/breastfeeding preterm babies. (5) The charity have bought 8 hospital grade breast pumps and donated them to hospitals around Ireland. (6) We donated a hospital grade breast pump for parents staying in the Ronald McDonald house in Crumlin. (7) With the support of bikers on the IPB Ride out for Prems, their fundraising efforts allowed us to donate a further 11 hospital grade pumps, bringing it to a total of 19 hospital grade pumps. (8) We did up 3 breastfeeding rooms in Crumlin hospital.
