This week it was announced that Barbie sales are taking a hit. Girls say that Barbie is boring - she doesnt come with a back story, unlike other dolls that come pre-packaged with a story. I dont know if this is indicative of society in general, but the thing with Barbie was - you were supposed to supply the story, through your own imagination. When they came out with a new Barbie - cop, fireman, circus Barbie, doctor, nurse, etc., you could create your own scenario. Just seems that kids these days want imagination spoon fed and pre-packaged.
