This week it was up to Kariong for the Seniors, and it turned out to even thinner program than expected. The u19s started off with a good 48-10 victory. Like last week they started sensationally and had run in 3 tries in very quick time. They ended with 7 tries, Mitchell Jacob converting 5 of those, plenty from wide out - he also kicked a penalty and scored a try. Nathan Smith had a sensational return to the team after a couple of frustrating long term injuries and raced in for 3 tries and picked up the coaches 3pts. Other tries to Bryson Hawkins, Wesley Chegwidden & Jake Bradbury. The 2pts went to Harry Watkins and 1pt to Brad Abdoo & Matt Ritchie. Players player was Brendon Robertson. Unfortunately Kariong are really struggling for Senior players this year and on top of not having a team in the 3rds comp, had to forfeit 2nds. In first grade it was very one-sided and the final result 96-0, Kariong kept trying, just dont have the manpower that they had a couple of years ago. Brook Cheezy Morrow, Blake Jacob and Paul Farah made their starting 1sts debuts, Dane Booker & Jay Blance came on as reserves for their first taste of the top grade. 3pts to Emile Thomas, 2pts to Mitch Graham & Chad Martin, 1pt and Players Player to Blake Jacob. try scorers: Emile Thomas 2, Matt Anderson 2, Brad Bunce Mitchell, Brook Morrow, Mitch Mitchell, Blake Jacob, Chad Martin Justin Staben, Paul Farah, Josh Davies, Mick Critter Arnold, Speedy & Daniel Reihana. Conversions to Speedy (6), Justin Staben, Mick Arnold & Mitch Graham. Chad Martin was so thrilled to be made captain when Emile went off that he ignored half a dozen support players and lobbed over a field goal to finish the scoring ... Interesting result from elsewhere was Ourimbah beating Terrigal 24-5 at The Haven!
