This week saw a poll taking place at the behest of Republicans for to make our most famous university a cold house for Unionists. Whilst thankfully common sense prevailed and sf scored a dramatic own goal by losing a poll in which Unionists mostly boycotted. This again makes a mockery of the SHARED SPACE we keep hearing republicans talking about. A few evenings ago we saw a young lad attacked with a hatchet for no other reason than he was a protestant. In the northwest we again see republicans naming the new councils in thier favour when there was neutral names available. This is after a park was named after a terrorist and the removal of THE FLAG OF THIS COUNTRY from City Hall. We really need to ask ourselves are sf and sdlp really interested in sharing a peacefull inclusive society with their unionist neighbours here in Northern Ireland. It seems whenever these two parties are in control it becomes a cold house for unionists and a one way republican/nationalist street. The thing that is infuriating me the most at minute is that some Unionist parties still seem hell bent on giving concessions in unionist dominated council areas as well. Only recently here in Craigavon a vote was taken on flying of Union Flag all year long only for some unionist parties to side with republicans. We also witnessed the shambles that allowed Craigavon to have its first ever republican deputy Mayor. In recent weeks we have also watched as somehow republicans have been allowed to have major say in fitting out of new ABC council buildings in essence this could mean the end of anything remotely British being placed in buildings. We all look on and wonder why South Belfast is not being spoken about as a united unionist candidate only for major Unionist parties to ignore the very people who put them where they are. Are these people so far gone that they do think they can treat the working class unionists with distain? Enough is enough its time to unite unionists and take our right to be British back !!!!! If the unionist parties arent interested in helping then maybe the working classes should start helping ourselves by uniting and holding these so called unionist parties and leaders to account !!!!! Remember it is us the working class who hold the power and the sooner we all realise this and take control of our own destiny in a united unionist voice the better!!!
