This week thus far has been difficult. I see my mother at every turn. I know that she would not want me to get bogged down in my grief. And I can hear her saying, “Don’t mourn for me, Regina! Take comfort in the knowledge that I am with my sweet Lord. Get on with living! Honor me with your joy and zest for life.” One of the things that I know Mother was looking forward to, is the Christian Literary Awards this year. She had a blast last year. My friend, Joy Lewis, reminded me of the funny conversation she had with Mother. And I know that Mother had a hand in the email I received from Joy and Rosemary yesterday. Mother was always so bossy. I’m truly looking forward to attending this year’s Christian Literary Awards; not only because of how very proud I am of “Tracks in the Snow” but because my mother was equally as proud. My pride comes not from the words I wrote, but the talent of the precious kids who illustrated them. It turned out amazingly well. I love these kids so much. I hope you’ll take the time to view this video announcing the upcoming 2014 Christian Literary Awards. Keep an eye out for me! I’ll keep you posted on when voting begins for the Reader’s Choice Award. And ask that you pray this precious book takes the Henri as well. Granny Stone will be watching.
