This week was filled with lots of doctor visits. I met with the speech and swallowing doctor. I learned how to make my swallow harder. I still wasnt able to swallow a small sip of water without coughing. I will be meeting with her weekly from now on. We also worked on speech. Hoping to be able to get the trach removed in a couple of weeks. The other doctors were for overall healing and blood counts. Everything was good. I still feel awful. I am amazed at how the radiation and chemo knock you down. I have to start exercising more around the house...working on walking laps, stair climbing and weights. They are all worried about me being depressed. Its pretty hard not to be a little, when your entire life is uprooted overnight. If I felt strong enough to do the things I love, like painting, and making jewelry...that would help. I did take my Miata for a spin around the neighborhood. And I did finish one little painting. Anyway, Danny and I are supposed to go see someone and I guess they want to put me on an antidepressant. Not sure how I feel about that. Three doctors have told me that it take 6 months to feel back to your old self...is that post surgery or post radiation? Unfortunately, I think it is the latter. Danny is doing good. Hes really tired also...we think from the medicines. He goes back to the cardiologist today. As always, thank you for all the continued prayers and positive thoughts...they are greatly appreciated.
