This week was my first trip to Alberta for shows in over 4 years. - TopicsExpress

This week was my first trip to Alberta for shows in over 4 years. It was interesting and very busy and both of the performance dates went well. I was left with the following impression, which I had forgotten about... Western Canadians REALLY like country music... Like when I spoke to people out there about the songs, they knew them and were really excited, but in a very cool, not over the top, very flattering way...I miss that... The fans back home are very cool, but there are just fewer of them per capita. Country just isnt as big of a deal here. Its a fact. Western Canada is really into Canadian country acts and puts them on a much more even level in many ways with their much higher funded US counterparts much more commonly as well. This also impresses me... During my 18 years (so far) putting out music, over 65% of my songs/CDs have been sold in BC, Alberta, Sask, and Manitoba, total population 10.2 million... The other side of the country is responsible for 32% of my sales with a population of 23.2 million. Look at those numbers a couple times. I got a B minus in math, but I think I can decipher this one... Thats a long way of saying, Thank You Western Canada!!...Even though you are so far away, I plan to visit more...my ego can use it...lol
