This week was one month since we said goodbye to my Grandma Gloria. Ive been intending to share some reflections in a blog post with you...but until I can unpack my feelings in the way I really want to, Ill share this. Last night, my mom and I went to see UNBROKEN, the story of the WWII and U.S. Olympian, Louie Zamperini. It was one of the best films Ive seen in years -- even if at moments we had to flinch away from the intensity. Ultimately, the story really made me feel connected to my grandparents generation and the virtue, character and sacrifice that we remember them for. If youre looking for a story that will strengthen your spirit, this movie (or the book its based on by Laura Hillenbrand) is worth checking out. And I sense both Grandma and Grandpa would be tickled that a female author and a female director/producer created it. :) They had a lot of faith in the future for their granddaughters dreams and achievements.
