This week we celebrated Lucys graduation from Gumnuts Preschool - TopicsExpress

This week we celebrated Lucys graduation from Gumnuts Preschool with a beautiful concert/dancing by the children. Lucy had been practicing at home and singing with great gusto. On the day however, the number of parents and noise was too overwhelming and Lucy stayed seated and didnt sing much at all. Captured here are a few active moments and Lucy checking out her very special portfolio of achievements at Gumnuts. Again, on this day, my heart was warmed and filled with pride. It was also a little saddened as I watched the other children all sing, dance and happily accept their portfolios without assistance. Although this sadness never lasts long (due to some great mental determination on my part to not let it linger), it does make me think what should have been. Im not sure ill ever get over Lucys birth and the fact that her right to a normal life was taken from her. I know this is probably hard for most to understand. Please allow me to feel this way, I need to in order to heal and enjoy the precious moments, that to us, mean so much. Even though Lucy didnt participate in full, the very next day she had a school transition at Tomaree Public special unit (where she will start school in 2015). And guess what she did? She stood up for news and told her new friends I had a concert at Gumnuts and then broke into the full rendition of the national anthem (sang every single word!!) and all the other children sang along too! Wow, what a moment!! And, once again, Lucy Pearl, you warmed my heart to capacity. Love Mummy xxxx
