This week we’d also like to point out something new CRA has been doing to clients who have been forgetting T slips when they submit their returns. It’s always been around but CRA has been more militant starting this past year, if the taxpayer has missed slips within the past 3 years; the penalties can be up to 20% of the missed income in addition to the tax owing. Moral of the story, if you are unsure that you may be missing a slip when filing your tax return, ask your accountant to double check your slips with CRA.
