This week when I noticed the sign out front of the church Saved - TopicsExpress

This week when I noticed the sign out front of the church Saved after a Shipwreck I thought about how different my life looks today. I am certain that I am a long way from being what God would have me to be, but thank God I am not where I use to be. Pastor Bob Hill knows so much about history and I love when he shares stories. Did you know that there are more than 1 million shipwrecks at the bottom of the ocean? Yes. I did not know that neither. The Apostle Paul had some struggles too. Yet in the book of Acts 27:1-4, 13-14, 18-26, 39-44 he was trying to defend himself so he was sailing to Rome when the inevitable happened; the ship wrecked. What I noticed about the reading was Paul did what most of us will do when something bad happens. Paul wanted to blame others for not listening; claimed if they had listened that they would not have been in their predicament. But the good news is Paul never left the ship with the other 276 people whom he was with. Instead, Paul encouraged the others. He gave them hope that they would endure and they did. And in the midst of a tragic situation Paul gave thanks to God. How many times do we thank God for our trials and tribulations? We are saved again, and again, and again, and for this reason I am grateful and I thank God.
