This weekend I visited my mother in Toledo. I now live in Florida. For some reason I cant find a good place to find shoes that really fit here in Florida. Saturday I was browsing for shoe stores nearby and ran into Martins Shoe House. This is where my parents would buy me shoes when I was little. We were on a tight schedule so we ran up to Monroe and made sure we would be the first customers. It was amazing. Still like it was 40 years ago when I left Monroe. Mr. Martin waited on us. They still measure your foot and put the shoe on you. This is a store with 160 years of history. I ended up with three pair of shoes. It was great coming back to one of the old steadfast Monroe merchants and see the old way of doing business is not gone.
