This weekend, Im proud to be spending my time working hard in our district discussing important issues like Sandy recovery, defending the stellar reputation of the NYPD, and resisting attempts to push aside our DA Dan Donovan, while my opponent is partying it up in California Wine Country with Nancy Pelosi and her deep-pocketed, ultra-liberal West Coast pals. I guess his priorities and my priorities are very different...Im more interested in working on behalf of my constituents but I guess he figures his and his buddy de Blasios progressive agenda will fly better in California than with the hardworking, middle class families on Staten Island. Have fun Dom, but dont count on Staten Islanders letting those deep-pocketed California Democrats help you buy their congressional seat anytime soon. The people of Staten Island and Brooklyn know whos had their backs and whos going to be the one to fight for them! Pelosi is also bringing in a handful of vulnerable Democratic lawmakers to mix and mingle with some of her biggest supporters. Getting picked to attend is considered an opportunity to schmooze with potential mega donors. Reps. Ami Bera (Calif.), Carol Shea-Porter (N.H.), Ann Kirkpatrick (Ariz.), Patrick Murphy (Fla.) and New York candidate Domenic Recchia are all slated to give brief remarks.
