This weekend Rev. Murata will conduct the Higan-e Ceremony where we offer Gokuyo for deceased ancestors, relatives or friends to plant the merit of the True Buddha within their lives to guide them toward Buddhahood in all future existences. Evem the deceased who are not Buddhists but belonged to other or no faith can all amass benefit if a Toba tablet is offered by a member in their behalf....as Rev. Murata explained it immediately implants the seed of enlightenment into the karma of the deceased. In Buddhism this is how we help those who have passed on and can no longer help themselves.
