This weekend there are two memorial races for two drivers who exemplified the racing talent in this area. Lee Raymond (Kil-kare) and Neal Sceva (Shadybowl). I was fortunate enough to get to see Lee race many times in his ARCA ride and the man could wheel. Neal was just a bit before my time but Ive heard many stories about his accomplishments and his numbers cant be argued. One of the things that is really warming this guys heart is seeing the massive amount of effort that Russ Bobb is putting into the Lee Raymond race at Kil-kare. Russ is potentially putting up big money to try and attract as many cars as possible for a Modified race to honor his friend. Not a lot of friends would put it on the line quite like Russ has. He is offering to pay the entry fee for any driver who wants to race, pay for 5 gallons of racing fuel for them, has sprinkled money all over the purse...including guaranteeing $200 to start the race, and has beat his feet all over trying to spread the word....among other things that I dont even know about. Thats a dedicated friend, if you ask me. We should all be so lucky to have such a great friend. So while this page rarely promotes Kil-kare....we encourage you all to go support this race on Friday in memory of a great man and racer...Lee Raymond. We also encourage you, as always, to get out to THE Shadybowl Speedway this Saturday for the Neal Sceva Memorial 51 lap Street Stock race, and also to root on your favorite LBKG Compacts!!
