This weekend we had a very emotional happy ending for Queenie/now - TopicsExpress

This weekend we had a very emotional happy ending for Queenie/now Rita and her pup Genesis/now Lola. Several months ago we were contacted by the loviest family looking to adopt a sato. At that time the dog they were interested in had been adopted. Their application was great and they previously had several satos. They spend a lot of time in Puerto Rico so are very vested in giving a home to a sato. On Saturday they met us at Kent Animal Shelter where both Queenie and Genesis were being fostered. They were open to meeting all of our dogs. Pilar, her husband Ian and their two wonderful children were at the shelter when we arrived, playing with Genesis. As soon as we met them you could feel the love and warmth from all of them and we knew any dog would be lucky to be adpted by this family. Pilar asked us to talk with them about the personalities of each dog. After spending time with Genesis we brought out Queenie to meet them. On our way to meet them Queenie stopped at Genesis run to say hi to her pup. When Pilar met Queenie it was magical. You knew Pilar and Queenie had fallen in love. Queenie is very sweet but she is initially a little shy. Pilar then asked us to bring Genesis back out to see the interaction between them. As soon as Queenie saw Genesis her personality started to shine and of course Genesis was jumping all over her mom :)). I knew what Pilar was thinking even though we had just met. The children wanted Genesis as she is the most adorable, playful pup. Queenie did not leave Pilars side. Pilar then asked her children with happy tears rolling down her face what if we adopted both Queenie and Genesis?. We were then crying too. Of course the children said yes and then Pilar turned to her husband and he agreed as well. We truly could not have asked for a better ending for these two amazing dogs and this incredibly, loving family. Here are some updates from Rita and Lolas mom: We are so lucky! Thank you for all you do and the clinic. Cant wait to share their home experiences. We are definitely here to spread the word and be a part of the Sato Project family. Within a few hours Rita and Lola have eaten very well, went to the dog park and now lounging on the outdoor patio. One of the pictures is of them sleeping on the kids pedicure crib mattresses and all the yummiest blankets BLISS. They have it made. There are so many wonderful things to say.
