This weekend we remember our fallen Heros. I would like to talk - TopicsExpress

This weekend we remember our fallen Heros. I would like to talk shortly about one of my Heros Petty Officer First class (AW/NAC) D. Poole. I flew many deployments with him, one 3 day stop we where in his home town and we didnt have a drinking lamp (no drinking). We stayed up all night as he showed me how to beat a game on Xbox, the next day he took me around and showed me his old house, were he grew up, the creak he plaid in and the schools he went to. He wouldnt stop thanking me, I told him the excitement from him made me feel like i grew up there. it was one of my best stops i had ever had. 3 deployments in a row he brought his Tiger Woods golf game and showed us how to play, these were the deployments we flew less then 40 hours so the once who know realize we had tons of time on our hand. so all we did was play that damn golf game with the music that goes along with it. We had a blast!!! even when weather diverted and everyone forgot cloths and tooth brushes he had the Xbox and we all went at it again. See here is the thing, if you were with him, you always had fun, there was nothing boring about this great man. He taught me about the jet in ways never shown to me before, taught me about computers and if you knew him you remember he always had a joke. The man never ran out of them and I could never figure out how he could remember so many. Most impotently he talked about his kids and his love for them. He ALWAYS helped a friend. He was a great father foremost, a great friend and was a leader as a Sailor. Unfortunately He lost is fight against depression a few years ago.... it felt like the other day we were playing the golf game listening to Outkast. For the amount of time i knew him, he has impacted the rest of my life in a great way I can never give back. My/Our friend, we miss you, we love you and I thank you for everything you gave our country. I still cannot delete your number from my phone.....and I still have that Golf game... You are one of my Heros.... attached is the our golf song you made a hand full of us fall in love with......Never forgotten... https://youtube/watch?v=mLvkoYB_AVI&noredirect=1
