This weekend we saw the movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. - TopicsExpress

This weekend we saw the movie, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Fantasy aside, the movie was quite interesting and brought up the endless, complex questions of war. Why does it happen? Is war part of the nature of man? How can something so devastating, so painful be so unavoidable? War seems a sad process by which to settle differences. So many lives lost at such enormous cost to civilization. Humans seem incapable of achieving peace. None of the many noted wise men since time began, have come up with a way to avoid the tragedy of war. I deperately wish there was no war. But war is everywhere I turn. It seems so hopeless. There was, however, a man long ago... he was called the Prince of Peace. He too was a casualty of war, and had the story ended there...at his death... at the tomb...all hope might truly be lost. But it didnt. Thank God.
