This weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit - TopicsExpress

This weekend’s Summit Racing Equipment Shakedown at the Summit presented by Mickey Thompson Tires kicks off with a test session today, and a steady stream of drivers have been lining up for a crack at the professionally-prepped track. RPM Transmissions owner Rodney Massengale has entered his Corvette C6 ZR1— which previously belonged to Outlaw 10.5 team owner Ron Schlessinger and driver Larry Wood — into Precision Turbo and Stainless Works Outlaw Limited Street. It packs a ton of punch with its Pro-Line Racing-built 670 cubic-inch engine and Berry Motorsports billet intake fronted by twin 98mm Precision turbos, and tying it all together is a Turbo 400 — as tricked out as can possibly be — by Massengale. Mark Menscer handled the set up of the shocks and four-link chassis. On a recent test pass, the car trapped a 4.40 at 186 mph in the eighth-mile, but the team this weekend, including TJ Strange, Kenny Johnson, Wes Cross, and tuner Patrick Barnhill of PTP Racing, is aiming for 4.0s-4-teens. - Mary Lendzion
