This weeks SCATTERTONE OF THE WEEK is Caitlyn Calfas! Caitlyn was accepted into the ScatterTones fall quarter of her freshman year (2010) and remained active in the group until she graduated last spring. During, both, her sophmore and junior year, Caitlyn held the position of Choreographer for the ScatterTones. Her wonderful choreography earned the group Best Choreography awards at 2012s ICCA finals and 2013s ICCA semifinals. Caitlyn majored in Theater, at UCLAs School of Theater, Film, and Television (TFT). Within her major, Caitlyn also specialized in Musical Theater, as part of UCLA TFTs Ray Bolger Musical Theater Program. During her time in college, Caitlyn was heavily involved in the performing arts. She performed in, both, plays and musicals in TFT, Act III Student Theater Ensemble, and professionally in Los Angeles. Since graduation, Caitlyn has been performing non-stop all around the country. Recently, she performed in Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson in New York, Catch Me If You Can in San Diego, and Big Fish in Long Beach (WHICH OPENS THIS WEEKEND AT MUSICAL THEATER WEST!). She recently moved in with two ScatterTone alumni (Taylor DiBernardo and Ariana Afsar) and is working on her acting career and practicing a lot of yoga. We asked Caitlyn what her favorite ScatterMemory was and she said, Finding out the group advanced to NYC for the first time in 2012, and exploring Alaska with my best friends my senior year. The ScatterTones are so fortunate to have had such a talented choreographer like Caitlyn who was able to make this good-sounding group pretty good-looking as well. ;) We will miss you and wish you the best out in the world.
