This weeks article looked at the nature of inventions and scientific progress through time. It was insinuated these occur according to the notion of multiples, and active management. The author depicted situations supporting the theory that invention is inevitable, e.g. the first patent of the telephone was filed by Alexander Graham Bell hours before Elisha Gray. Additionally, the author suggested that the combination of many intelligent people, working hard to solve a problem has the potential to make great technological and scientific advances. For this the author described the company, Intellectual Ventures, whose focus is to generate feasible ideas for inventions.
