This weeks devotion from National........................... Unconditional Love John Ogden Sr. January 12, 2015 In Matthew 22:36-39 Jesus is asked a question: what is the most important commandment in the law of Moses? Jesus’ reply, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: love your neighbor as yourself.” What an awesome thought that Jesus loves us just the way we are! To come into a relationship with Him is to accept His love. To experience the new birth requires us to accept His love. The power of God is discovered in the power of His love. He loves us more than we can ever know. Even though we may not see it, we can experience it. His love is reaching out to us at this very moment, seeking to fill all of the places that are hurting, bruised, and hidden. He is asking you to respond to His love by whispering prayer, even at this moment. Would you allow Him to come into your life, fill the vacancies, and heal the hurts? In your own words receive His wonderful love for you to meet the needs of your life. Where you have been and what you have done does not matter. He stands waiting to receive you with open arms if you will accept His unconditional love. We cannot earn His love, nor are we worthy of His love. His love for us is great, not because of what we have done, but because of what He has done. God sent His Son Jesus Christ that we might have life and have it more abundantly – that is what God’s love is all about. Quietly but firmly place yourself in the center of His hands. I challenge you to totally give yourself to God and watch what happens.
