This week’s virtual prayer rhythm was from the ‘New Moon’ - TopicsExpress

This week’s virtual prayer rhythm was from the ‘New Moon’ prayers from ‘Liturgies from Lindisfarne, compiled by Ray Simpson. Here is a prayer we used and a link to the video clip we watched together: God instructed his people to celebrate at the cycling of the universe, including at the New Moon (see Numbers 10v10 & 28v14). In the UK at this time we are seeing the New Moon before the turning of the Celtic year into the season of darkness, a significant part of the moon cycle. Creator of moons, Saving Light, Sheen-bright Spirit . . .tonight your glory shines among us anew. We welcome your Presence, renewing itself in our midst. We praise you for creating sun, moon and stars and for revealing your glory to us. You have assigned them tasks which they perform without demur; may we perform willingly in the orbit of your love. Moon of gentle light, guiding jewel of the night, we raise our hand to you, we lift our eye to you, though we cannot see you You are travelling your course, you blessing of God, you moon that graces the seasons. https://youtube/watch?v=Hja8rlSAQk0 Hopefully we will see you next Friday at the same time! (Midday UK time – see time zone map in our pictures folder to find your time!).
