This week’s yummy recipe is Grandma’s Creamed Peas. Yummy! This is one of my family’s recipes that has been handed down to me and it’s oh so good and easy too. It will go great with last week’s recipe of the Twice baked potato casserole. A great addition to your family dinner plus it’s easy so less time in the kitchen and more time with the family, which is what Christmas is all about. Prep Time: 5 minutes Bake time: 10 minutes Ingredients: 2 cups frozen sweet green peas, thawed 2/3 cup water 1/8 teaspoon salt 3 tablespoons real butter 1/3 cup heavy cream 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon sugar Directions: 1. In a medium sauce pan, combine peas, salt and water. Bring to a boil then add the butter. 2. In a small bowl, using a whisk, blend together cream flour and sugar. 3. Stir the cream mixture into the peas. 4. Cook over medium-high heat until thick and bubbly. Enjoy! Let me know how you liked this recipe and if you changed it up any.
