This whole "Skype aesthetic" is running counter to my expectations - TopicsExpress

This whole "Skype aesthetic" is running counter to my expectations of the telecommuting lifestyle. My nephew was kind enough to help me set it up and equally quick to point out the need for proper lighting and economy of motion. I am planning to propose skyping as an alternative to a face-to-face job interview with a potential employer 500 miles away. I am glad I did a dry run first, because I did not know that I would have to: 1. Schedule the interview for a time after me and my face have woken up. 2. Shave and comb my hair. 3. Decide whether to position the camera on top of the monitor, highlighting my thinning hairline, or on the bottom, showcasing my double chin. 4. Wipe the WTF look off my face that is my natural expression in front of the computer. The abyss is looking back at me, and it is holding a very unflattering mirror.
