This whole falling at work has been the worst experience of my life. In the beginning I was okay and went to each and every one of my physical therapy appointments and things seemed to be getting better. Then one day it took a turn for the worse. Then came steroid shots in my back and accusations of lying. Muscles were sore from spasming and worse. My employers HR rep was seemingly on my side. Then the checks finally started to come in while I was on total disability. Then towards my back to work date I had to call the insurance company to remind them, only to be told that they had ten days to send it and it didnt matter that I had bills to pay. Now Im going to physical therapy three times a week and some days I feel amazing, but most days I cry on my drive home and try to put on a happy face for my family. My HR rep is clearly not on my side as I thought. Ive been told that I need to schedule my appointments before my shift, not during. Ive explained countless times that my husband works during the day and with two toddlers I need a reliable income and that I am scheduling my pt appts around that. Called insurance company today although i sent it last Tuesday and they still hadnt processed my check. Uggghhhh so Ive got to wait til Thursday. And every day I miss is now an absence, so theres that too. Just a pro tip: dont fall at work, especially if you work for Hertz. They dont really care about your well being, no matter how convincing their acting may be.
