This wild yellow-bellied slider was brought into the clinic by a Good Samaritan. He was found with a fish hook in his neck. We took a radiograph to see how deeply it was imbedded and to our surprise we found a second hook lodged in the base of his tongue. After administering some gas anesthetic, Dr. Olson was able to safely remove both hooks. An injection of an antibiotic and pain control was also given After a good 24 hours to recuperate from the procedure, he was released back outside.
