This will admittedly be a long post, but I promise, itll be well worth it! Ive been involved in youth football some 6 plus years now. Today made me so proud in so many ways. And I encourage you to say thank you to anyone I mention here. Without them the sport our children love would not be possible. 1) our Peewee program is only in its second year. The first year was rough but showed promise. This year our first game was very close (though we had a rough one today). I still believe coaches Junior and Jonathan can inspire and teach these kids well enough to get a win this year. 2) after many long years (for our veteran players) our youth program got a win! They showed hard work and dedication to eachother.* Despite year after rough year they come back and give their all. Today it paid off. They love their coaches Tim and Reese as much as they love the game. They play hard for them and want to play for no other. 3) the awesome feedback I overheard walking around the field. Other teams like to sit on our side so they can listen to our cheerleaders. its so cool they get cheerleaders. Thanks Wendy for putting it all together and Ashlea and gang for dedicating your time. 4)*the most awesome part of my day though? Hearing a veteran Bucs player tell a new player today (and Im not sure why the conversation was started but here is how it went) : new player I just want to go over and see my family. I havent seen them in awhile. Veteran player this is your family. Here and now. This is where you need to be till the game is over. We are your family right now. Yes folks! These are the leaders we are creating for the future! Be proud and cheer them on when you get the chance. Ill post part 2 with cheerleading and chargers photos.
