This wonderful, loving cocker kid at the San Antonio Shelter needs YOUR help!! Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Austin/San Antonio is currently CLOSED to new intake, so we wont be able to rescue this wonderful boy. PLEASE SHARE! petharbor/pet.asp?uaid=SANT.A301814 I evaluated this gem at ACS today. The paperwork said 4 years old, but then was crossed out and put 9 years old. Im not sure I buy 9... His eyes did not seem cloudy. His hearing was fine. I did not feel any old man warts/bumps. I wouldnt say a senior. Maybe 5 or 6? He was not afraid when I entered his stall and placed the leash on him and brought him out - he came very willingly. He was rather calm about it - not jumping up and down. We walked down the aisle and he walked very nicely on his leash. There were dogs barking at him on one side so he simply moved over to the left and continued walking, not paying any outward attention to them - he had a goal in mind to leave! :o) As I was interacting with him, people kept coming by and marveling at him and how pretty he was. His face and coat are BEAUTIFUL! He has green eyes and a light-colored nose. His back and tail fur are red and he has a toupee hair-do that is lighter. He has a little matting on ears and toupee. I have to say that the hair-do on top of his head is adorable! He let me grab his paws, tail (full, undocked), and ears without so much as a flinch. He took a treat very respectfully from my hand and gobbled it up nicely. Im guessing he may be housetrained as his kennel was clean and knew what to do when he got on the grass. He is most likely good with other dogs too as several went by him (and one brushed up against us) and he did not seem to care. I would guess he is pretty low key as well. When I put him back in his kennel, a family walked by with a few children and he really seemed to perk up when he saw them (followed them to the other side of his kennel), so he may be good with children. This is a beautiful guy who needs a nice bath, lots of good food, and a second chance at life... please help if you can. ~ Kelly
