This would indeed, be a very sad and disturbed country if it had not been founded with Christian principles. You only have to look where tyranny exists today, where civil strife is common place and where progress and human rights are virtually non-existent and you will find countries without Christian principles or Christian standards. While Islam is based on the Christian God of Abraham it has been taken by "radical" extremist groups to "old testament" extremes by self serving leaders who hate everyone who does not believe as their "particular sect" professes and they hate everything that Christianity professes. While approximately 85% of Americans profess a belief in a "superior power or entity", way less than 50% practice their religion. To believe is enough to base and build a civilized society on.
