This writing concerns the 2nd Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and our right to bear arms and the right to protect ourselves and our property. The 2nd Amendment states A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. My concern is that the State of Tennessee requires a license fee of $115 for a concealed to carry permit. Nowhere in the 2nd amendment does it state you must pay a fee. I feel this is nothing more than a tax that many cannot afford to pay. There are 5 states that do not require permits to carry a firearm...Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Vermont and Wyoming. I would like to take this issue to our State Legislators in Nashville in the next Legislative session and see if we cant get this passed. Do you agree? I believe strongly in the right to protect ourselves!
