This year, Stuart and I turn 35. Isnt amazing that we can say 20 years ago and actually remember 20 years ago? There is this special thing about birthdays that I have come to acknowledge over the last couple years. I see them as Gods gift of a once-a-year day to celebrate the person Hes created each of us to be, and an opportunity to pause and consider where we are in the process of becoming that person. Its a day when youre supposed to have a private birthday party with God. I know, youre saying, Um, what? How? Heres my Mindyism for today; we can go into a nice quiet place. My place just happens to be my front porch, or maybe my bed when its all made up and the shades are up and I can see out. I take a notebook and my Bible and read and reflect back and look forward and talk to God about the next year. I can ask Him where I am in my life, where I need to grow, what I need to learn. We can always end our birthdays with a thank-yous for past blessings and pleases for future ones. Then I tuck away my Bible and journal celebrate with friends. One more day I woke up, one more day to see those I love, one more day to provide for my family, one more day I can thank God for always loving me, and to look forward to one more year of working to be more like Him. On this day, October 16th, 2014 Id like to wish a happy 35th birthday to the man of my dreams. Stuart Thacker you are the best thing that could have ever come into my life. We have the oddest adventures from Jet Ski accidents to getting lost on the way home from a Bengals game. Isnt it awesome how Gods plan was a conspiracy to help me find you...I will wife you so hard! I love you, Big Daddy! Enjoy your birthday! Prayer for today: Father God you have given us birthdays, a day we can celebrate the past year and yet another to come. Father thank you for the opportunities you put in front of us so that we can celebrate with our friends, families and the ones we love the most. Father, bless my sweet man this day and this next year, may his birthday be everything you desire it to be! Thank you for bringing us together. Thank you for Calvary, Amen.
