This year alone, more than 3,100 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in our region. Women like Annie, a local 28-year-old mother of 2 small children, the youngest with special needs. Being uninsured, she would postpone seeing a doctor after discovering a lump. Annie would later be diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. Susan G. Komen funds would pay for Annie’s medical services and a Susan G. Komen funded health organization would help enroll her in a cancer treatment program. She would receive the lifesaving care and treatment she desperately needed. Today, Annie can be counted as one of the 2.5 million survivors of breast cancer in America. She will watch her children grow. Her survival was made possible with the help of our generous Race for the Cure sponsors, teams, and participants. Every sponsor counts. Every team counts. Every person counts. Every dollar counts. Join us May 10th at our 2014 Race for the Cure! REGISTER HERE: komensacramento.org
