This year has been a year of growth and accomplishments. I have stumbled and scrambled back up, brushing the dust from my knees. I have learned to set stronger boundaries. I have stopped feeling guilty about saying no. I have stopped feeling selfish when I refuse to give in. I have learned by failing. I have grown through making the wrong choice, if a choice can be considered wrong when there is growth as a result. Most of all, I am proudly and loudly telling my childhood abuse story with open vulnerability and no shame or fear. I will tell it until I have taken my last breath here or no child is ever hurt again. Whichever comes first. Speaking out is my passion. Creating is my therapy. Writing is my language. Absorbing energy is my existence. Expressing is my song. This life is my choice. I walk ahead freely embracing this journey and all it brings. Cult Child is my daughter born after seven long years hiding in my womb. Silas birth into the pages of this novel were painful as we scraped the wounds of childhood abuse, bringing it to the surface in the hopes that these words will start conversations; begin a language by which we all can tell our truth and thrive. It is for her that I shout my way into this new and bountiful year. She is Rising. Happy New Year to Everyone who has supported me! My dear friends who have heard me weep, cry out and claw against frustration; appreciated my expressions and encouraged me to push on, all of you dear loved ones, fellow survivors, poets, artists, creatives, Empaths and angels.
