This year marks 200 years since Australia’s first Governor, and captain of the First Fleet, Arthur Phillip, died and was buried in Bath. Earlier this week, Queensland’s 26th Governor, His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, visited the memorial armillary sphere that tracks the historic 11 ship convoy to Australia under Phillips command. Governor de Jersey is currently in the UK, promoting trade and investment opportunities for Queensland businesses in the UK and Europe, promoting Queensland ahead of next month’s G20 meeting, and to recognise and commemorate Queensland’s significant contribution and sacrifice in the Anzac Centenary year.
