This year marks the 25 anniversary of the devastating Loma Prieta earthquake that struck the Bay Area and the resulting fatalities, injuries and damage is a tragic reminder of why California needs to build a comprehensive statewide earthquake early warning system. A fully deployed system will save lives and help protect critical infrastructure. It will provide critical seconds to take cover, assist loved ones, or pull over safely to the side of the road.
