This year the Department of Family Services and Labour is unable to fund students in the Disability and Community Support – Workplace Program at Red River College. Fortunately, staff who work for agencies that support the inclusion of people with disabilities do not need to have government funding in order to be eligible for application to the program. The main criteria in becoming a Workplace Student is that applicants have two years of experience in the field. In order to complete the two year Diploma program the Workplace Model allows students to attend class for two days a week while remaining in their job. This program offers online and in class courses, as well as Recognition of Prior Learning (Challenge). Tuition (including textbooks) is approximately $4000 per year. Please contact Jane Botting at 204-632-2328 ([email protected]) for enrollment information or contact Cheryl Martens at 204-632-2573 ([email protected]) for information about the Disability and Community Support Program or check out the website at me.rrc.mb.ca/Catalogue/ProgramInfo.aspx?RegionCode=WPG&ProgCode=DISCF-DP.
