This year, the seasoned Nairobi Star represents the face and history of Absolute! Fabulous! Gorgeous! and Atlas. Nairobi Star will be performing in this show for the eighth year, and she celebrates that “it’s still as fun as ever!” Nairobi Star will be featured in a duo performance this year, and she’s also looking forward to work with the full cast. She mused, “I’ve realized the more I work with the other performers, the more fun I have. Everyone is so talented!” These drag divas know how to let their wigs down and have a good time. Yet, underneath the rousing entertainment of the show lies a deep-rooted culture of collaboration. Absolute! Fabulous! Gorgeous! is organized by Atlas, BCAP’s HIV Prevention Program. Nairobi Star shared her personal connection to Atlas’ mission: Building a future where HIV transmission is rare. She attributes the mission as a primary reason for her continued involvement in the program since 2006. “Atlas has a reason for action. It’s an opportunity for folks to meet with a meaningful focus. Our mission gives us a goal to promote a real message to better our community,” she says. The full cast and crew of Absolute! Fabulous! Gorgeous!, Atlas, and BCAP believe that it takes all of us working together to end stigma and reduce transmission of HIV. Be sure to buy your tickets early for the ninth annual Absolute! Fabulous!
